A Service Level Objective (SLO) is a specific, measurable target for a service's performance — such as 99.99% availability or a maximum response time — that sits inside a service level agreement. SLOs translate broad commitments into concrete goals against which actual performance is measured, and breaching them is what typically triggers service credits or remediation.
