An Availability Commitment is the specific level of service uptime a provider contractually promises, expressed as a percentage over a defined period and backed by measurement rules and remedies. In data centers it typically covers critical power and cooling continuity to the customer's equipment, and forms the headline metric of a service level agreement against which performance and credits are assessed.
