A Make-Up Air Unit (MAU) is an air handler that conditions and introduces outdoor air into a facility to replace air exhausted or lost, maintaining ventilation and pressurization. In data centers a MAU supplies tempered fresh air to support economizer operation, battery-room and generator ventilation, and slight positive pressurization that keeps dust and unconditioned air out of white space, working alongside the recirculating cooling units.
