An EC Fan is a fan driven by an electronically commutated brushless DC motor with integrated speed control, allowing precise, energy-efficient airflow modulation. Compared with fixed-speed AC fans, it consumes markedly less power at reduced speeds and needs no separate variable-frequency drive. In data center CRAH units, fan walls and containment systems, EC fans are the standard means of matching airflow to cooling demand while cutting fan energy.
