An Access Control System is an electronic security system that manages and records who may enter defined areas, using credentials such as cards, PIN codes or biometrics linked to controllers and electric door hardware. In data centers it enforces layered access from perimeter to cabinet, often with anti-passback and mantraps, and logs every entry for audit and compliance.
