WUE (Water Usage Effectiveness) is a Green Grid metric, standardized in ISO/IEC 30134-9, that relates a data center's annual water consumption to its IT equipment energy, expressed in liters per kilowatt-hour. It is especially relevant where evaporative or water-based cooling is used or where water stress is a design constraint, complementing PUE and CUE.
