CUE (Carbon Usage Effectiveness) is a Green Grid sustainability metric, standardized in ISO/IEC 30134-8, that relates the total carbon emissions from a data center's energy use to its IT equipment energy, expressed in kilograms of CO2 equivalent per kilowatt-hour. It reflects the carbon intensity of operation and complements PUE by measuring environmental impact rather than energy overhead.
