A Superimposed Dead Load is the permanent load carried by a structure in addition to its own self-weight, including finishes, screeds, ceilings, fixed partitions and permanently installed services. In data centers superimposed dead loads account for raised floors, cable containment, fixed ductwork and busbar, and are allowed for separately so future additions stay within capacity.
