A Deflection Limit is the maximum permitted bending movement of a structural member under load, usually set as a fraction of span, to safeguard serviceability, finishes and equipment. In data centers deflection limits keep floors and beams stiff enough for raised-floor tolerances, cabinet alignment and cladding integrity under heavy and variable equipment loads.
