Sensor Drift

Monitoring & Control Systems

Sensor Drift is the gradual loss of accuracy in a sensor over time, so its readings diverge from the true value even when nothing physical has changed. Undetected drift in temperature, humidity or power sensors can mislead data center control loops and dashboards, causing wasted energy or false confidence, which is why periodic calibration is scheduled.
