An Alarm Flood is a burst of alarms arriving faster than operators can read and act on them, typically triggered by a single upstream fault cascading through dependent systems. In a data center control room it can mask the true root cause and delay response, which is why alarm rationalisation, prioritisation and suppression logic are used to keep annunciation manageable.
