BACnet (Building Automation and Control Networks) is an open data communication protocol for building automation and control, standardized as ISO 16484-5 and ASHRAE 135. It defines a common object model and services so devices from different vendors can interoperate. Data center BMS installations use BACnet extensively to integrate HVAC, cooling, metering and environmental controls.
