A Power Distribution Unit (PDU) is equipment that takes an incoming feed and distributes conditioned power to multiple downstream circuits or racks, often incorporating a transformer, breakers and metering. Floor-mounted facility PDUs sit between the UPS output and the rack level, subdividing power and providing monitoring, protection and, in some designs, voltage transformation.
