Point of Presence

Internet & Interconnection
Also known asPoP

A Point of Presence (PoP) is a location where a network operator places equipment to connect to other networks, customers or transport, such as a router and optical gear inside a carrier-neutral facility. PoPs define where a provider can be reached and cross-connected; a data center's value as an interconnection hub grows with the number of networks that build a PoP there.
