Object Storage is a storage architecture that manages data as discrete objects, each with a unique identifier and rich metadata, in a flat address space accessed over HTTP APIs. In data centers it scales to enormous capacities and is the basis of cloud storage, used for backups, archives, media and data lakes. It favors scalability and durability over low-latency random writes.
