A Long Span Beam is a beam that carries floor or roof loads across an unusually large distance between supports, minimising internal columns. In data centers long-span beams create open, flexible plant halls and data floors free of intermediate columns, though they require careful control of depth, deflection and vibration under heavy and dynamic loads.
