Break-Fix

Operations Procedures
Also known asRun-to-Failure

Break-Fix is a reactive maintenance model in which equipment is repaired or replaced only after it fails, rather than on a preventive or predictive schedule. In critical data center facilities pure break-fix is risky for primary plant because failure means loss of redundancy or outage, so it is usually reserved for non-critical or fully redundant components.
