Zero Trust is a security model that assumes no user, device, or network segment is inherently trustworthy, requiring every access request to be continuously authenticated, authorized, and validated regardless of location. Replacing the traditional trusted-perimeter approach, it enforces least privilege and per-request verification, and in data centers it commonly combines identity, device posture, and microsegmentation to limit lateral movement.
