Storage Area Network

Storage & Virtualization
Also known asSAN

A Storage Area Network (SAN) is a dedicated high-speed network that presents block-level storage to servers as if it were locally attached. In data centers SANs typically run over Fibre Channel or IP fabrics, pooling storage across arrays for performance, scalability and centralized management. They support workloads such as databases and virtualization that need low-latency block access.
