A remote radiator is an engine cooling arrangement in which the heat-rejection radiator is located away from the generator set, connected by coolant piping, so the engine room does not need to move its full cooling airflow. It allows large gensets to sit inside buildings while rejecting heat outdoors. Data centers use remote radiators where indoor generator halls cannot accommodate set-mounted radiators and their airflow.
