Also known asRECGreen Certificate

A Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) is a tradable instrument that represents the environmental attributes of one megawatt-hour of electricity generated from a renewable source. Data center operators buy RECs to claim renewable energy use and offset conventional grid consumption in sustainability reporting. RECs are the North American form of energy attribute certificate.
