Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is the framework of certificate authorities, policies, and technology that issues, manages, and revokes digital certificates binding public keys to identities. It underpins TLS, code signing, device authentication, and secure email. In data centers PKI authenticates servers, devices, and services, enabling encrypted communication and trust between machines across large, automated environments.
