Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) is the average time taken to diagnose, fix and restore a failed component or system to service. Together with mean time between failures it determines overall availability: shorter MTTR means less downtime per failure. In data centers it drives spares strategy, maintainability of design, and the response and resolution commitments in service level agreements.
