Linear Heat Detection uses a continuous heat-sensitive cable that signals an alarm at any point along its length where a preset temperature is exceeded. In a data center it is routed through cable trays, busway, under raised floors and around battery rooms to detect localized overheating exactly where it occurs, complementing area smoke detection.
