A Flame Detector senses the infrared and/or ultraviolet radiation emitted by open flames and responds in milliseconds, making it suitable where fast-flaming fires can occur. In a data center it is used in generator halls, fuel storage areas and switchgear rooms rather than IT space, providing rapid detection of hydrocarbon or electrical fires that produce visible flame.
