Baseboard Management Controller

Servers & Racks
Also known asBMC

A baseboard management controller is a small dedicated processor on a server motherboard that monitors and manages the machine independently of its main CPU and operating system, even when it is powered off. Through it, operators read sensors, power the server on or off, access a remote console, and update firmware over the network. It is the foundation of lights-out data-center operation and out-of-band management.
