Substantial Completion

Construction Management
Also known asPractical Completion

Substantial Completion is the point at which construction is complete enough for the facility to be used for its intended purpose, with only minor punch-list items remaining. Common in US contracts, it triggers the transfer of responsibility, the start of warranty periods, and the release of retention. In data centers it typically follows commissioning of the critical power and cooling systems.
