A Smoke Compartment is an area enclosed by smoke-resisting barriers designed to limit the movement of smoke from one part of a building to another. In data centers smoke compartments help protect escape routes and adjacent equipment spaces, and are coordinated with detection, smoke control and the ventilation systems serving technical areas.
