Fire Compartmentation is the division of a building into fire-resisting compartments, using rated walls, floors and closures, to contain fire and smoke and limit their spread for a defined period. In data centers compartmentation separates data halls, electrical and mechanical rooms and escape routes, protecting critical infrastructure and supporting safe evacuation and business continuity.
