A Secondary Cooling Loop is the closed circuit that carries treated coolant between a coolant distribution unit and the IT equipment, such as cold plates or rear-door heat exchangers. In data centers it is hydraulically isolated from the facility (primary) loop by a heat exchanger, allowing tighter chemistry and temperature control near sensitive electronics. It is also called the technology cooling system.
