RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet) is a protocol that lets one server read or write another server's memory directly over an Ethernet network, bypassing the CPU and operating system. In AI and storage clusters it delivers the low latency and high throughput of InfiniBand-style RDMA while reusing standard Ethernet, but it depends on a lossless, well-tuned fabric.
