A Request for Inspection (RFI) is a formal notice a contractor issues to the client, consultant or quality team asking them to inspect completed work at a defined stage before it is covered up or the next activity proceeds. In data centers it is raised against ITP hold and witness points, such as before pouring concrete or energizing electrical work, and its sign-off creates the quality record permitting progress.
