Protection Class is a categorization, notably in the EN 50600 standard, that grades the level of physical security and protection a data center provides against threats such as unauthorized access, environmental hazards, and physical attack. Like the availability class, it uses graduated levels so operators and customers can compare how strongly a facility guards its assets.
