Primary Pump

HVAC Plant & Distribution

A Primary Pump circulates fluid through the source side of a hydronic system, most often maintaining constant flow through a chiller's evaporator to protect it. In data centers primary pumps are arranged in the chilled-water plant, usually with N+1 or greater redundancy, and paired with secondary pumping so production flow through the chillers is decoupled from variable load demand.
