A Laydown Area is a designated open space on or near a construction site used to receive, stage, sort and temporarily store materials, equipment and prefabricated assemblies before installation. On large data-center builds laydown space is a scarce, actively managed resource, planned in the site logistics plan to sequence deliveries of long-lead gear such as generators, transformers and cooling units and to feed the work fronts efficiently.
