Isolated Redundancy

Redundancy Topologies

Isolated Redundancy is a topology in which the redundant capacity component and its distribution path are kept physically and electrically separate from the primary path, so a fault or fire in one cannot propagate to the other. In data center power and cooling design this isolation, sometimes called compartmentalisation, is central to achieving fault-tolerant, highest-tier availability.
