An Immersion Tank is a sealed bath filled with dielectric fluid into which servers are submerged for cooling, replacing the conventional vertical rack. Horizontal tanks hold servers on their sides, and coolant is circulated to a heat exchanger or coil. In data centers immersion tanks support very high density and near-silent operation, eliminating server fans, and form the enclosure for both single-phase and two-phase immersion systems.
