A Fire Separation is a fire-resisting construction, such as a wall or floor with a rated performance, that divides a building to restrict the spread of fire between areas. In data centers fire separations isolate high-value or high-risk spaces such as generator, battery and electrical rooms from data halls, limiting fire spread and protecting critical operations.
