An Extension of Time (EOT) is a formal adjustment of the contract completion date granted when delay arises from events at the client's risk or from relevant events under the contract. It relieves the contractor of liquidated damages for that period. On data-center projects EOT claims commonly follow late owner decisions, design changes or long-lead equipment slippage, and are assessed against the accepted programme.
