A Cross-Connect is a dedicated physical cable link, in copper or fibre, that directly joins two customers' equipment or a customer to a carrier or cloud provider inside the same data center via the facility's meet-me room or patch panels. It provides private, low-latency connectivity that bypasses the public internet, and is a core recurring-revenue product for colocation operators.
