Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design

Physical Security
Also known asCPTED

Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) is a set of design principles that reduce security threats by shaping the built environment through natural surveillance, access control, and territorial reinforcement. Applied to data center campuses, it informs site layout, landscaping, lighting, sightlines, and fence placement to deter intrusion before electronic systems are engaged. CPTED complements technical controls with passive, physical deterrence built into the facility.
