A Basis of Design (BOD) Report is the engineering document that records the design intent, assumptions, criteria, standards and system concepts underlying a project's design. In data centers it captures targets such as redundancy level (for example N+1 or 2N), design temperatures, capacities and applicable codes, serving as the reference that later drawings, calculations and commissioning are checked against.
