An Alarm Check Valve is a one-way valve installed on a wet-pipe sprinkler riser that permits water to flow toward the sprinklers while preventing backflow, and that triggers a water-flow alarm when a sprinkler operates. In a data center it signals the fire alarm panel that water is flowing, distinguishing genuine sprinkler activation from normal supply pressure fluctuations.
