Multicloud is the deliberate use of cloud services from two or more public cloud providers within one strategy, chosen to avoid vendor lock-in, optimize cost and capability, and improve resilience. It differs from hybrid cloud, which mixes private and public; colocation and cloud exchanges often serve as the neutral interconnection hub linking a customer to multiple clouds at once.
