Rack Density is the amount of power, and by extension compute, drawn or supported by a single rack, expressed in kilowatts per rack. In data centers it determines power distribution and cooling design, with traditional racks at a few kilowatts and AI and HPC racks reaching tens to over a hundred kilowatts. Rising density is a primary driver of liquid cooling adoption.
