A Threat and Vulnerability Risk Assessment (TVRA) is a structured methodology, widely used in physical security, that identifies credible threats, evaluates asset vulnerabilities, and rates the resulting risk to prioritize countermeasures. For data centers it examines site, perimeter, and facility exposures to intrusion, sabotage, and natural hazards, informing security design and investment. Some financial-sector standards mandate a TVRA before commissioning a facility.
