Shoring is temporary support installed to keep the sides of an excavation or an unstable structure from collapsing during construction. Common systems include sheet piles, king-post walls, soldier piles with lagging and trench boxes, often combined with props or ground anchors. On data-center projects shoring protects deep foundation, basement and utility-trench excavations that sit close to boundaries or existing live buildings.
