An Information Security Management System (ISMS) is a structured framework of policies, procedures, controls, and continual improvement processes for managing an organization's information security risks. Defined by ISO/IEC 27001, it takes a risk-based, plan-do-check-act approach covering people, processes, and technology. Data center operators establish an ISMS to systematically protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability, and to achieve and maintain certification.
