A Generator Endurance Test runs standby generators continuously at rated or stepped load for an extended period, commonly eight to twenty-four hours, to prove sustained performance, cooling, fuel consumption and stability. In a data center it verifies that engines can carry the facility indefinitely during a prolonged outage and exposes overheating, fuel-delivery or vibration problems a short run would miss.
