Fault Tolerant

Redundancy Topologies
Also known asFault Tolerance

Fault Tolerant describes infrastructure that can withstand any single unplanned failure of a capacity component or distribution path without affecting the IT load. It requires enough independent, redundant systems that a spontaneous fault, on top of the site continuing to operate, causes no disruption. It is the defining characteristic of Uptime Institute Tier IV, the highest topology tier.
